Last night Warwick started its Christmas celebrations with a Victorian Christmas Evening and Leamington Spa Regency Rotary Club organised a hot dog stand – member Ian D. Brookes-Howells and his partner Dafydd L. Brookes-Howells dressed in Victorian gentlemen’s costume and they got interviewed on BBC local Radio and BBC Midlands Today featured them in the local news programme!
Thousands of people came to see the Christmas lights switched on, with traditional stalls selling everything from food to gifts, a Victorian fayre with steam driven carousel – all very festive and it was so mild at 11 Celcius. A very succesfull evening we hope to have raised £500 for local charities including Warwickshire Young Carers.
