Chris Wyburn-Powell, a 16 year old student of Princethorpe College, will talk about the upcoming trip to Tanzania he is making with his peers this July. There he will engage in charitable work, from wildlife conservation to teaching school pupils, for 4 weeks to help the communities of this developing country.

Howard Wilson is the Chairman of the Ffestiniog Railway Society and will be talking to the club on 1 March. The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways of North Wales have fascinating industrial and social history. Whilst the Ffestiniog is one of the oldest railways in the world, last year it was reconnected with the restored Welsh Highland Railway connecting Caernarfon with Blaenau Ffestiniog via Portmadoc (where the trains now run through the streets of the town.) Both railways fell into disuse but have been restored, to create one of Britain’s premier tourist attractions in this beautiful part of the world.

Professor Peter Sadler, Fellow of the Royal Society will speaking on 8 March at the club about "New optimism in scientific research or how an understanding of the chemical elements of life and medicines can make a difference." Peter is an inorganic chemist and has just finished his three-year stint as Head of the Chemistry Department at Warwick University.

James Lovatt is the Leamington & Warwick Rotaract Club President for 2011/12, 1060 Rotaract Chair and has recently taken up a role on the National Rotaract (RGBI) board to develop International ties. After speaking at the District Rotary Conference in October he will touch on how his club feels Rotarians can support Rotaract. He will be inviting honest thoughts on what has caused Rotaract membership to fall back so much in the UK, and will outline what UK Rotaractors plan to do to resolve this.
