Perhaps you think that Rotary is a weekly lunch/dinner club where people sit and chat!
Last year we organised the Tour d´llmington bike ride with 181 riders, the Rotary Victorian Evening, the Fashion Show, the Songs of Praise held at St Edmunds during the 'woolly weekend', an outing for the elderly of Shipston to Weston Super Mare and one Rotarian helped with the polio immunisation programme in India.....The Santa Street collections, before Christmas, are a moment to treasure for many children and we know that some are disappointed because we can't get round every Shipston street.
One of the Senior teams from Shipston High School reached the National final of the Rotary Youth Speaks competition, and many Rotarians helped with mock Interviews and CV writing at Shipston High School.
Coming up we will have a large presence at the Stratford Marathon and the Youth Fest.
You can't do all that just by having a weekly chat!
Our focus is on supporting young people but via the Rotary Victorian Evening (and the Wool Fair and Hidden Britain initiative, which Rotarians help with) Rotary also encourages and supports local business.

Last year nearly 200 cyclists took part and it was a great family day out. The unique blend of 2 rides includes the same 10 mile flat/family ride, as last year, with refreshments half way round, and an 'undulating' ride of more than 30 miles for the more experienced cyclist.
We hope you enjoyed the Victorian Evening. A big thankyou to everyone who came along, nearly 2,500 people we think. Rotary raised nearly £5,000 for our charities and local good causes so a big thankyou to all who supported our charities and the other charities who raised much needed funds at the event.
Sorry about the ferris wheel, it had a slight accident en route but all OK.
