Six young orators from the Invictus academy of schools have been given the green light to go forward in a national public speaking competition that could eventually see them crowned champions of the UK and Ireland.

Twenty-six Kinver Rotarians, friends and members of Wet Wee Whistle Whisky Society enjoyed an evening at Old Edwardians Club, Stourbridge raising funds for their Youth Charoities account. Under the skilful tutelage of Andy Purslow, Ambassador for Wemyss independent bottlers and distillers of Edinburgh, who supported the event, six whiskies of varying ages and prices were tasted and discussed at length.
The Rotary Club of Rugby Saturday Breakfast recently celebrated the charter of the first Rota Kids Club at Eastlands Primary School Rugby.
Following on from collecting their Young Citizen award in Birmingham, for writing, recording, acting and filming their own DVD on Cyber Bullying the School now holds fortnightly Rota Kids meetings.
Rotarians from the club and District Governor Elect, Peter Roberts, attended the school assembly to present the children with their certificates.
Pupils at three local schools are to be given the opportunity to test their writing skills against youngsters from across the Midlands.
The Rotary Club of Kinver is in talks with staff at St. James School, Wollaston; The Ridge, Wollaston; and Brindley Heath Junior School in Kinver to enrol youngsters in an annual writing competition organised by Rotary district 1060 which stretches from Rugby in the east to Stourport in the west and from Tamworth in Staffs to Southam in the south of Warwickshire.
